I love exploring. Exploring is one of the secrets to great photographs. You have to follow your nose, watch for areas that might have good compositions and pay attention. I was following this little stream just looking for compositions when I came upon this pool filled with aspen leaves in their wonderful autumn colors with one red leaf on top I had to stop and photograph the scene. I love the black leaves and dark water underneath like a canvas painted black. The shades of yellow in the quaking aspen leaves really jump out against the black, the water droplets really give the image depth and character with the single read leaf composed in the lower third. I love how this turned out!
