Limited Edition of 10 Museum Grade, Fine Art Prints
This photograph is part of my 'Deer Creek Trees' Series.
I have always loved Deer Creek Reservoir, I grew up fishing the shoreline and I learned to water ski there. I've been intrigued by the cottonwood trees that grow along the shoreline but I never stopped to photograph them until this autumn day in 2019. After taking a few photographs of the trees I realized they would make great abstract images with the water and mountains in the distance so I did this study on them. Abstracts aren't for everyone, one friend of mine says they "hurt her eyes", but I love seeing them and doing them. These are done with a technique called Intentional Camera Movement or ICM. The shutter speed is set slow and the camera is moved while the picture is being taken. I love the texture and depth of this photograph, the grass in the foreground sweeping brush strokes, the gray trunks textured but blurred, the water shinning in the middle and the mountain shadows in the distance.

The Finished print will look different than what you see on your phone or computer screen. Your phone or computer screen does not do justice to the amazing color and depth of these museum grade, fine art prints. When enlarged to sizes of 24x36 or larger these prints really explode in detail and vibrancy. Proper lighting on your prints can be key to how they will look in your home or office. Here is an article Tomas wrote about how to light your photographic art.
