Our day at Stirling Castle was rather uneventful. The day was very hazy and gloomy making any kind of shot of the whole castle impossible. So I decided to try some images of walls, interesting angles, windows and gargoyles. I always try to shoot from a tripod but with this image I had to lean out over the wall to capture the view I wanted. My wife was worried I was going to fall so I told her to hold tight to my belt, once she had a good hold I leaned out even further! I think it was worth it as this image has been one of my best sellers. I love the gloom and mood in this photograph, it is classic Scotland. I love the detail in the rocks and the molted grass and moss in the rock. The glimpse of the town in the distance helps give this perspective and mood.
