Panoramic

Tomas loves photographing nature and landscapes in panoramic formats. From desert and forest scenes to detail images of trees and rocks these photographs are for those looking for long narrow prints. Panoramic photography is done with a number of various techniques. Sometimes an image is cropped to a panoramic proportion and sometimes the scene is photographed specifically in panoramic format. One of Tom's favorite techniques for photographing a panoramic scene is to turn the camera vertical and then move the camera after each exposure making sure to overlap the images. To combine all the images a program is used to "stitch" the images together into one long image. This technique provides fabulous resolution and very large image files but the image can be blown up to extremely large sizes as large as 5 by 15 feet in length with very sharp details. Tomas offers panoramic images in 1:2, 2:5 and 1:3 ratios.
