The morning of June 30, 2020 began with freezing temperatures and snow on the ground, later that afternoon I hiked up Thomas Canyon and ended up being hot and sweaty. That is summer in the mountains, weather can change with little notice. I love this area of Thomas Canyon above the campground and have tried to go back twice now to backpack to this spot, the weather did not cooperate I haven't been back since the day I took this photograph. This day I loved the light when the sun went behind the clouds so I waited for the light as the puffy clouds danced in the vivid blue sky and creek skipped merrily down the canyon. I love the two waterfalls in the distance and the green valley with the small grove of pine trees on the right side. When I make back to this spot I'm going to camp in that grove of pines. To capture this photograph I shot multiple vertical images and then "stitched" them together to create this 1:2 ratio panoramic.
