Photographing autumn in Zion National Park is a must. It is my favorite time to be there and the colors can be spectacular. I spent three nights with my daughter in the park November of 2023. This image was taken the morning of the November 8th. Photographing in a canyon means no low early morning or late evening light. You have to use the light reflecting off the canyon wall to give radiance to the scene. Once the sun rises into the canyon the light is gone and will be too flat. I explored along the River Walk trail looking for composition and when I found this one I knew I had a winner!.
