I had heard about Lamoille Canyon but I didn’t understand how beautiful it is until I went there. I timed my trip perfectly to coincide with the fall colors and I wasn’t let down except for the fact that I missed the storm by about 12 hours. The fresh snow on the peaks was wonderful but the clear sky hardly gave a cloud. I sat in this spot for hours waiting for clouds to roll in, as the clouds approached they would get above the high peaks and then dissolve in the updrafts coming out of the valley. At last just as the light was fading I was able to catch one Bob Ross style ‘happy little cloud’ that finally floated into the scene. I love the warm evening sun on the mountains and the ripples in the water in this photograph. The golden yellow aspen trees in the distance glowing in the light.
