Kolob Canyons is one of the most spectacular yet least appreciated places in Zion National Park. I arrived later than anticipated this evening and after scouting around picked this spot for a sweeping panoramic image. I just love the color of the red rock and the powdering of snow as if it is some wonderful sweet dessert sprinkled with powdered sugar. My wife said it looked like a Turkish Delight so we decided to name this image Kolob Delights! I love the few little clouds hanging over the main peak and the pink afterglow in the sky. This photograph my not have moody clouds but it has a wonderful subtle beauty of its own.
This photograph was created by shooting vertical images and panning from left to right. I then 'stitched' and cropped these photographs in Adobe Lightroom together creating a 1:2 ratio panoramic image.
