I love trees and bridges, put the two together and I've found my perfect photograph. When we visited Chatsworth House we drove across this bridge. I saw the weeping willow tree and knew that was where I was heading to photograph. My wife and in-laws wanted to see the estate house, I wanted to photograph this tree and bridge so I told them I would catch up and headed to the banks of the River Derwent. Springtime is the perfect time to photograph willows, I love the colors of their branches and leaves as they put on the new growth of the year. The river, green grass, stark trees and classic bridge all make this image work for me. The bridge was built by James Paine in 1759-1764 and provides the perfect accent to this photograph.
