In April of 2022 I spent two amazing nights backcountry camping literally 50 yards from this spot. I had hiked over three miles with a goal to photograph the Milky Way over the park but could not resist capturing such images as this. The gorgeous reds and pinks of Kodachrome Basin along with the beautiful blue sky, puffy clouds and warm sunshine had me singing the Paul Simon song in my head the whole time! This was desert scenery at its finest and despite getting covered in fine pink sand I had the time of my life!
