July 5th 2019 the day after my 54th birthday and I was right where I wanted to be, in the mountains photographing. The Mirror Lake Highway in the Uinta Mountains Utah, is one of my favorite places and it is a very popular location for camping and fishing. We had scouted this location two nights before and went back the evening of the 5th in hopes the evening light would be perfect, it was an amazing evening. The sunset this night was glorious with the blue sky, pink clouds and the last bit of light touching the mountains. This photograph is all about the reflection and I couldn't have asked for better conditions to capture this amazing scene. I created this 2:1 ratio panoramic by shooting multiple vertical photographs panning from left to right and then stitching them together in Lightroom to create this sweeping photograph.
