Urquhart is the only castle to sit on Loch Ness and is spectacular whether viewing it from land or from the loch. If you ever get a chance to go there pay the money and see it, it is worth it. Urquhart was blown up by the English in 1692 to prevent its use as a fortress in the Highlands. There are still large pieces of rock laying around the grounds from that explosion. As I walked on the grounds I was taken with this view and lighting. This photograph has proven to be one of my favorites and a great seller. I love the green grass, the cloudy sky and the loch in the background. The line of bridge and path lead the eye in and you find yourself looking at the detail of the rocks and the waves on the water.
