This bridge was build in the 1700's by General Wade as part of the Military Road to give British troops easier access to the Highlands to quell the Jacobite rebellion. I couldn't resist taking a closer look under the bridge to make sure there weren't any trolls, (or Red Coats) hiding there! I love the warm evening lights and the shadows of the trees giving dabbled light on the old stones. The deep blue water, green of early spring and stark trees really give depth to this photograph.
