Still Water Night

The Still Water River that flows out of the Uinta Mountains near Christmas Meadows is an area of extreme beauty and rugged nature. I had not spent the night out in over a year and I decided to hike up the trail a ways and spend the night exploring views of Ostler peak. While I couldn't fine any good views on the river I found this view right by my camp that gave wonderful exposure of the night sky so I could photograph the Milky Way. So I shot the first exposure just as the last bit of sunlight was touching the peaks and leaving my camera in place I went to bed. I woke around midnight to take a second exposure of the night sky so I could do this blend of the two. It was a fun night despite the fact the mosquitoes were awful and my boots were soaking wet.
